Cambrian Tyres League – Division 1
Bow Street Res threw away another two points as they conceded in the final minute to the UWA Res team. Another disappointing result left the Magpies 6 points off the top of the league as they chased down leaders Bont and Tregaron.
In a fairly scrappy game the Magpies took the lead towards the end of the first half when a Nick Smith corner was put into his own net from the home team goal keeper.
Seconds into the second half and the teams were level as the UWA Res equalised straight from kick off. In a fairly scrappy end to end game it was the Magpies that were given the opportunity to take the lead again after Jac Williams was bought down in the area but Shaun Jones missed the resulting penalty after the keeper made up for his mistake by saving well down to his right. However, with minutes to go Bow Street thought they’d won the game when Lee Crumpler powered home a header from another Nick Smith corner for his first goal since signing form Borth.
The students threw everything at Bow Street in the final minutes and they got their reward when they equalised through a header of their own for a share of the points. The Res now host local rivals Talybont at Cae Piod in their final game of 2017.
