Bow Street Junior Football Tournament: 13/14th July 2009

This weekend sees the staging of the seventh annual Bow Street Football Club Junior tournament. More than 90 teams from as far as Barmouth, Llanybydder and Ludlow will compete in seven different categories on Saturday and Sunday. The tournament is organised by Spar Mid Wales League team, Bow Street FC, and the games will take place on 8 different pitches at the club’s Cae Piod ground. Competition takes place on Saturday at under 7’s, under 9’s and under 11’s. On Sunday, teams compete at under 13’s and under 15’s. Also two girls competitions take place at under 11’s and under 14’s. Salop Leisure are sponsoring the tournament for the fourth consecutive year. Director Dylan Roberts said, ‘Salop Leisure is very pleased to continue its support of this highly prestigious event. This tournament continues to go from strength to strength and we compliment the club on its efficient organisation of the event. We value greatly our partnership with Bow Street Football Club.’ Bow Street chairman Wyn Lewis said, ‘We are thrilled that such a distinguished and successful company continue to support this event, and we greatly appreciate their commitment.’ Tournament organiser, Allan Evans says ‘This year has attracted record entries and we look forward to an enjoyable two days with good weather hopefully. As a club we are proud that we are able to facilitate such an event, which also allows our own juniors the opportunity to experience challenging opponents from outside their own locality.’ Play starts at 9.30 on both days, refreshments are available, and there is ample parking space.
