Junior Tournament 2011

Report

Large crowds were attracted to Bow Street on the weekend of July 9th and 10th for the annual ‘Bow Street Juniors Soccer Festival’, which was kindly sponsored for the sixth and final time by Salop Leisure.

This was the ninth time that Bow Street Football Club had staged this highly successful and enjoyable tournament. The two days were blessed with mainly dry weather although as ever nothing dampens the infectious enthusiasm of players and spectators.

Teams from as far apart as Llanrug, and Ludlow attended the event, and all visitors were complimentary of the way the tournament was organised and controlled. Club chairman, Wyn Lewis said, ’This festival takes a great deal of time to organise, and I am grateful to our committee and helpers for their phenomenal commitment. Also, I wish to thank the sponsors, Dylan Roberts and Salop Leisure for their enormous commitment over the six years of sponsorship.

Gerwyn Evans, the main festival organiser said, ‘We are absolutely delighted with the success of the tournament. As a club, we are delighted to be able to facilitate an event that brought so much enjoyment to children and adults alike.’ Special arrangements are already under way for the tenth anniversary of the tournament on July 14thand 15th, 2012.

Over ninety teams took part in the tournament at the different age groups.
