Bow Street Res moved three points clear at the top of Division 1 this afternoon, although Bont and Tregaron do have games in hand, with a 9-0 victory over Machynlleth Res. Bow Street were made to make a late change to their starting lineup as keeper Rhys Evans had to withdraw due to injury. Ian Evans replaced him between the sticks.

Bow Street started brightly creating a few half chances in the opening 25 minutes but couldn’t break down the Mach defence. However, the breakthrough came when Stephen Harrison rose the highest to plant a header past the Mach keeper. The lead was shortly doubled when Ifan Burrell scored on his return to the club after travelling. The Magpies started to gain a bit of confidence and increased their lead before the half time whistle through a Joe Williams penalty after Burrell was upended in the area.

The Magpies management were looking for a quick start to the second half and the game was over within 5 minutes of the re-start as Rees-Jones, Shaun Jones and Nick Smith scored three quick goals. Bow Street dominated for the remainder of the game, restricting Machynlleth to only half chances. Rees-Jones, Jones and Smith all got their second of the game as Bow Street ran out comfortable winners.
