Bow Street Reserves went to the top of the league on Thursday after an emphatic win over the students. This all entails that Bont have to beat Aberdyfi on May 13th to regain top spot and clinch the Championship. A draw will not be sufficient for Bont.

Bow Street were 4-0 at the interval with goals from Shaun Jones(2), Ryan Evans and a stunning header from veteran Stephen Harrison. The second half was a quieter affair with just one goal added, a barnstorming effort from Ian Evans.

Manager Rhodri Jones was very happy after the game, ‘Well, we have done all we can now – if Bont do win the league on the last day, congratulations to them, but I am very proud that our lads have fought back to challenge after Bont were ten points ahead at one stage.’ Chairman Wyn Lewis added ‘Whatever happens on May 13th (which coincidentally is the day of the club dinner), this has been an exceptional effort by the management and players of the Reserve team. Finishing second is already the best ever finish by Bow Street Reserves in the Cambrian Tyres League.
