Cambrian Tyres League – Division 1
Bow Street Res suffered a huge blow in their quest for second place with a 3-2 home defeat against Llanilar. The Street, who hadn’t played for a fortnight looked sluggish from the off and found themselves 3-0 down against a Llanilar team who were out for revenge having lost to the Street twice previously in the season. Gethin ap Dafydd gave the Street hope just before the interval by pulling a goal back.
The Street started the second half strongly and pulled a goal back when Shaun Jones forced an own goal from ex-magpie Steff Davies on the hour. The Street threw everything at Llanilar in the final half hour but couldn’t make the break through, largely thanks to centre halves and ex-magpies Paul Bonner and Steff Davies.
The Street now have four games left and will need to win all four if they’re to secure second place.
