Cambrian Tyres League – Division 1
The Reserves suffered a damaging result at Cae Piod when they were held to a 1-1 draw versus bottom club Penrhyncoch Res. Having dominated the game for long periods the result proved a damaging one for their ambitions to challenge at the top of the table.
Bow Street controlled the game right from the start but were wasteful in the final third of the pitch as they failed to capatilise on plenty of possession. Too many times the final ball or strike at goal were wasteful.
The breakthrough finally came halfway through the second half when Shaun Jones scored his first senior goal for the club following a tremendous strike into the top corner. However, celebrations soon turned to despair when Gerwyn Evans gave away a needless penalty which was dispatched confidently to level things.
There was one final twist however when Bow Street were awarded a penalty with minutes to go after Osian Burrell was fouled by the keeper. Up stepped Justin Quinn who unfortunately had his penalty saved by the keeper. Shortly after the final whistle was blown, much to the celebrations of Penrhyn who had picked up their first point of the season. That was the second consecutive where the Res had missed a penalty and ended up drawing the game.
