Spar Mid Wales League – Division 1
Bow Street comfortably won their first home game of the season as they tried to erase the memory of their defeat in Borth last Tuesday.
Played in blustery conditions, the home side won comfortably, leading 2-0 at half time. Andrew Gittins opened the scoring and 15 minutes later was then fouled in the area resulting in Mark Gornall, on his debut, scoring from the penalty spot.
In a dominant second half, Bow Street scored three further goals through Gittins again and Steffan Richards who scored twice. Radnor were awarded a penalty in injury time but Ben Willis produced a fine save to keep his clean sheet.
Manager Barry Williams said “Delighted that the boys hit back today after a below par performance against Borth. It was a solid all-round performance but praise hast to be given to the front three, Tom Evans, Andrew Gittins and Steff Richards for all their hard work. Their non-stop running and endeavour gave the Radnor defence a torrid afternoon”
Meanwhile, all attention turns towards their mouth-watering clash with Aberaeron at Cae Piod this Wednesday.
