Spar Mid Wales League – Division 1
Bow Street followed up their mid-week victory over Tywyn with an even more emphatic result against fancied Llandrindod. A good crowd gathered at a sun drenched Cae Piod to witness the home team score two goals in each half.
Andrew Gittins opened the scoring after 7 minutes from close range, and Tom Williams scored an excellent individual goal just before half time. Before the second goal, Bow Street withstood an intense period of Llandrindod pressure, but the defending was resolute with the two centre backs, Neil Evans and Tomos Wyn outstanding.
The home team dominated the second half with the only surprise being that they only scored two further goals. The third goal was an outstanding long range effort from Llion Jenkins, the game’s outstanding player, and Gittins got his second just before the end.
Manager Barry Williams was understandably pleased, ‘I am happy with the result, and the way that our new players are settling in. Also, the spirit and determination of the boys shone through, especially during the period that we were under pressure from Llandrindod. But it is early days still, and we look forward to some difficult matches coming up before the end of the month’
