Spar Mid Wales League – Division 1
Bow Street bounced back from their mid-week defeat in Aberaeron with a comfortable win against newly promoted Radnor Valley.
The game was played in high winds and the occasional torrential rain showers. Playing with the wind in the first half Bow Street only managed to establish a one goal advantage. The goal came from an excellent Ifan Burrell finish following a superb through ball from the impressive Garmon Nutting. Radnor had a couple of chances early in the first half, but they spent most of the first half defending grimly against the home attack and the elements.
Playing into the wind in the second half, Bow Street dominated possession and scored two further goals from Mathew Evans and the hard working Burrell. Apart from a very late consolation for the visitors, the only chance that Radnor created was excellently saved by goalkeeper Willis.
Veteran Peter James came off the bench for the final minutes thus ensuring that he has represented the club in all of the ten seasons that Bow Street has been in the Spar Mid Wales league.
Assistant Manager, Richard Lucas said “We are pleased with the win and the way the boys responded following the unfortunate defeat in Aberaeron. It is very early in the season, but we are happy with way the new signings are settling in. We look forward to the derby against Machynlleth this coming Wednesday”
