News | Bow Street sign Gavin Allen from PenrhyncochBow Street have announced that they have signed former Aberystwyth Town striker Gavin Allen from Penrhyncoch in what must surely be one of their biggest ever signings. Allen, who has scored over 100 goals in just over 250 appearances in the top flight of Welsh football joins the Magpies with his new club still in the running for the Spar Mid Wales League title, the league cup and the CWFA trophy and will undoubtedly provide them with additional firepower up front. Street manager Huw Bates was clearly thrilled with his new signing: “It was a major coup for us to bring Stefano Antoniazzi here from Porthmadog earlier in the season but to get Gav to sign from Penrhyn is massive for us and is hopefully the final piece of the jigsaw as we try and build a squad to win things at this level.”. Bates was also keen to praise his Penrhyncoch counterpart Kevin Jenkins: “I’ve made some great contacts and friends during my last five seasons as manager but none more so than Bones, who was incredibly cooperative during the transfer process and I wish him and Penrhyncoch all the very best for the rest of the season.”.
