Bow Street manager receives Manager of the Month award

Upon receiving the Manager of the Month Award for February, Huw Bates spoke of his delight for winning the prestigious award - "I’m obviously extremely proud to win this award but whereas the player of the month is an individual award, as far as I am concerned the manager of the month might as well be called the club of the month as our recent success is also down to the committee, my assistants and most importantly the players, rather than any one person."

Bow Street Reserves appoint new manager

Barrie Jones has been appointed as the new manager of Bow Street Reserves, with Allan 'Baba' Evans stepping down. Many thanks Baba for all your hard work.

Another exciting week lies ahead for Bow Street football Club.

On Tuesday, the first team travel to Dolgellau hoping to achieve another victory over the same opponents that they beat 3 – 0 last Wednesday. Things are very tight at the top of the league at the moment, and it is important that Huw Bates and his team maintain the pressure on Penparcau, Rhayader, Llanrhaeadr and Aber Reserves.

Another tough game awaits the team on Friday night as they travel to Latham Park to play Newtown reserves.

Incidentally, the League Cup Final against Llansantffraid Village has been confirmed for 6.00pm on Monday May 3rd at Latham Park. This is the May bank holiday, and a bus will be leaving the Rhydypennau Inn at 4.00pm.

Bow Street Reserves play in the semi final of Cwpan Ceredigion this Wednesday against Cardigan at Aberaeron. KO at 6.30.

This is the first time that the club has reached the last four of this prestigious competition since winning the trophy in 2006. This is a marvellous opportunity for the Reserves to proceed to a major final, although we all know that Cardigan will provide stern opposition. Please come along in droves to support the boys at Cae Sgwar Aberaeron on Wednesday night.

Bow Street sign Gavin Allen from Penrhyncoch

Bow Street have announced that they have signed former Aberystwyth Town striker Gavin Allen from Penrhyncoch in what must surely be one of their biggest ever signings. Allen, who has scored over 100 goals in just over 250 appearances in the top flight of Welsh football joins the Magpies with his new club still in the running for the Spar Mid Wales League title, the league cup and the CWFA trophy and will undoubtedly provide them with additional firepower up front. Street manager Huw Bates was clearly thrilled with his new signing: “It was a major coup for us to bring Stefano Antoniazzi here from Porthmadog earlier in the season but to get Gav to sign from Penrhyn is massive for us and is hopefully the final piece of the jigsaw as we try and build a squad to win things at this level.”. Bates was also keen to praise his Penrhyncoch counterpart Kevin Jenkins: “I’ve made some great contacts and friends during my last five seasons as manager but none more so than Bones, who was incredibly cooperative during the transfer process and I wish him and Penrhyncoch all the very best for the rest of the season.”.
